Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has put his support firmly behind Wriddhiman Saha as far as choosing the first-choice wicketkeeper for India is concerned in the upcoming Test series against Australia.
India has been juggling between Wriddhiman Saha and Rishabh Pant when it comes to choosing their stumper for a Test rubber.

Ever since Rishabh Pant made his Test debut, the Virat Kohli-led team-management have gone with the young southpaw in overseas conditions but Wriddhiman Saha is picked in the starting XI in home Tests.
“I still believe in Test matches, your best keeper should play like Wriddhiman Saha for India. Yes, the skills change as per formats but I believe now, you have to be equally good keeper and batsman to play for India,” Parthiv Patel said.

However, in the first practice game, India opted to play Wriddhiman Saha ahead of Pant in their playing 11.
Saha scored a gritty half-century in the second innings when India A was in some sort of bother. As of now, it looks like Saha could start the Test series as the stumper, however, things can change drastically if Rishabh Pant gets a chance in the pink ball warm-up Test at the SCG against Australia A and he puts up a brilliant performance there.
Meanwhile, Parthiv Patel announced his retirement from all forms of the game via a Twitter post on Wednesday [December 09].
