Among the active wicketkeepers in international cricket at present, Wriddhiman Saha leaves others behind with his proficiency in catching against pace bowlers. Saha as per a report completed 96.9% catches successfully so far. The stat is certainly the best, as no other wicket-keeper has got such consistency with his glovers.

It isn’t a cakewalk for the Bengal cricketer, as he had to wait for his chances in order to get the seat in the playing. During his absence, Rishabh Pant owned the role of a wicket-keeper, however, after a couple of failures in West Indies, the Indian Team management has asked Rishabh Pant to stay away from the playing XI and called Wriddhiman Saha to keep the wickets for the team.

Straightaway, he showed what he is capable of doing by keeping the wickets to perfection on a wicket that got turn and bounce for the spinners. Wriddhiman Saha showed what experience can offer to the team during tough circumstances.

Recently, the former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly stated that the Indian team should rely only on one wicket-keeper in order to avoid confusion in the future. Further, he went on to say Wriddhiman Saha as the best wicket-keeper in the world cricket at the moment in all conditions.

Team India Head Coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli had termed Wriddhiman Saha as the ‘best keeper in the world’ and many followed with similar tags for the Bengal stumper after watching his acrobatics in the South Africa series.

”I focus on staying as low as possible (against the pacers). Everyone has their style when it comes to wicketkeeping and copying someone is not the best of choices I would suggest. My keeping stance has turned into a habit after playing and practising for years. I always focus on the basics like following the ball to my gloves, keeping soft hands, keeping my body in sync with the bounce of the ball or movement,” Saha said to Times now.

Well, Wriddhiman Saha has worked a lot to make things fall in place. He will be in the action when the Indian team lock horns with Bangladesh for a 2-match Test series, in which, Pink ball Test will be a part of.
