Ravichandran Ashwin’s decision of not Mankading Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Aaron Finch has created quite a stir on social media. While some fans are praising him for upholding the spirit of the game, some are also criticising him for not doing something which is well within the rules of the game.

And another section of the fans have come up with hilarious Jos Buttler memes as the Englishman was at the receiving end when Ravichandran Ashwin had decided to Mankad in the last IPL. It had created a huge storm in the cricketing world as the off-spinner was slammed for several quarters.

Not only the fans, several cricketers had also slammed him for his action which is well within the laws of the game but is widely considered against the spirit of the game. And thus when Ravichandran Ashwin decided against Mankading Finch, the fans could not help but come up with hilarious memes.

Here are some of those posts:

Talking about the incident, Ravichandran Ashwin decided to spare Finch with just a warning. While bowling the third over of the Royal Challengers innings, the off-spinner stopped short of delivering the fourth delivery and went through his action without letting go of the ball with Finch well out the crease. But to everyone’s surprise, he decided against Mankading the Australia star and left him with a warning.

The spinner’s decision seems to have been influenced by his chat with Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting. Before the start of the tournament, Ponting had said that none of the Delhi players would Mankad and that he would have a chat with the off-spinner.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, thrashed RCB by 59 runs to move to the top of the points table. After scoring 196 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs, the Delhi-based outfit restricted RCB to 137 for 9.
