Another exciting season of the Indian Premier League is done and dusted, but the bonds they have been created during the last seven weeks will last longer. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw forged an excellent opening partnership for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019. They were one of the significant performers as Delhi progressed to the playoff stages before bowling out from the Qualifiers.

Shaw is currently playing in Mumbai T20 League

Prithvi Shaw made his Test debut against Windies on the back of strong domestic performances. He scored a brilliant hundred in his first international game before injuring himself during one of the practice games ahead of the Test series against Australia. Brimming with pain, Shaw had to return back home only to make a return during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy ahead of the IPL.

The 19-year-old, who only played his second IPL season, amassed 353 runs in 16 IPL games at a good strike-rate with the highest score of 99. It was a learning curve for the young Prithvi Shaw rubbing shoulders with the legend of the game. He also admitted that learn bit and pieces of his game from Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly. After the IPL, Shaw is leading the Noth Mumbai Panthers in the second season of the Mumbai T20 league. They have made a great start to the season winning two out two to seat at the second spot in the points table so far.

Although the IPL is over, Prithvi Shaw has left a great impression on his Delhi opening partner – Shikhar Dhawan. According to reports, Dhawan has gifted Prithvi Shaw, a bat with a message on it saying you will be a legend one day.
