Youngsters Make Debut on Chahal TV, Aim to Be Fit as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma
‘Chalal TV’ has become a trend in the India dressing room. In the past, a few of the players had appeared on it including the India captain, Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, ahead of fourth ODI in Hamilton, Yuzvendra Chahal, the host of ‘Chahal TV’ interviewed the young guns – Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed and Shubman Gill. However, the topic of discussion was fitness; the trio revealed Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have set the bar which they want to meet in future.
Rohit to lead India in Virat’s absence
In the absence of regular skipper, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will be leading India in the remaining two games. Keeping in mind the workload, the BCCI had earlier decided to rest Virat post the third ODI. Under Kohli, India had won the first three matches of the five-match ODI series.
Not only this, but the skipper had also guided the India National Cricket Team to an unprecedented tour Down Under. First, they won the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2-1 before claiming the three-match ODIs with the same margin.
Young guns speak on fitness
Now, coming to ‘Chahal TV’, Shubman Gill opened the interaction with Khaleel and Kuldeep joining later. With Rohit Sharma behind the camera, the youngsters in the team talked about their fitness regime. When asked to Shubman Gill, he said,
“We maintain ourselves by following the schedule which is being given to us. I am feeling good to be part of the team.”
Meanwhile, the unorthodox Kuldeep Yadav said,
“It’s not like that I work out a lot. I like to follow a good fitness regime which is being given to us. So far it has been very helpful to us,” Kuldeep said. “Our seniors like Rohit bhai, Virat bhai motivate youngsters like us a lot. When they do so, we too feel that we need give our best (on being fit),” he added.
Khaleel Ahmed, the fast bowler who could return to the team for the remaining two ODIs said,
“Workout needs to be a habit, the same way like you brush your teeth every day. If you maintain your body then only you can last longer as a player,” he said.
However, Hamilton will host the fourth ODI on Thursday (January 31st).
