Pakistan legend Younis Khan has been offered multiple roles within PCB coaching setup. The 42-year-old has been offered the role of working in the Karachi High Performance Center, on a permanent basis, while also being called up to support Head Coach Misbah-ul-Haq on foreign tours as a batting consultant whenever needed, according to a report in Cricket Pakistan.

Younis Khan was earlier appointed as Pakistan bating coach for the England tour. He had mentioned that he had a great experience on the tour and no problems or controversies arose during the series, according to the report.

Younis Khan likely to be part of coaching staff during New Zealand tour

As per the media report, a squad of 35 players will be announced for the tour of New Zealand which would include players from the national men’s side and the Pakistan Shaheen team. Khan will likely be a part of the massive contingent that will depart for the tour of New Zealand.

Khan is the most successful Test batsman for Pakistan. He surpassed his mentor Javed Miandad to become the most run scorer for the national team in the longest format. He scored 10,099 runs at over 52 in 118 Tests from 2000 to 2011. Besides rising to the summit spot as a Test batsman after his career-best 313-run knock against Sri Lanka.

Khan is a tall figure for his national team but carried his stature with utmost grace. He had said ‘there has never been a bigger honour’ for him than to represent his country.

Khan, who also has an experience in county cricket said, had said that he is privileged to serve his country again ahead of the tour to England.
