Abraham Benjamin de Villiers also known as AB De Villiers celebrated his 34th birthday on 17th February. He would have loved to celebrate the day with a victory against India. However, in the sixth ODI on 16th February, South Africa went on to lose the series 5-1 at home.

De Villiers’ batting style and his attitude towards the game has earned him praises from fans and counterparts from around the world.

De Villiers also holds the record of scoring the fastest 50, 100 and 150 runs in ODI’s- all at the same time. Unfortunately, he has been ruled out of the three-match T20 series against India after nursing a knee injury.
AB De Villiers is also a great sportsperson as he has tried his hand at some of the various other sports football, swimming, rugby, badminton, hockey and golf.
The prolific batsman de Villiers has a huge fan following in India and much of the credit can be given to the Indian Premier League (IPL). The South African plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and has showcased some great power hitting.

The South African has played with the likes of Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh in the T20 league.
Yuvraj Singh, who himself was a great match winner, wished the South African batsman two days after his birthday on his official Twitter account.
“Many happy returns of the day to Mr 360 ! An absolute legend of a player and one of the best and most humble human beings I’ve ever come across @ABdeVilliers17 you beauty.”
