Ousted India all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh recently appeared for a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, the reports of which are not out yet. The result of the YoYo test will tell whether he will be taken into consideration for selection in the upcoming New Zealand series.

While the southpaw is still waiting for the results of the fitness test, there is another huge issue which is going through in his life. The 35-year-old, who was injured just ahead of the semi-final clash of T20 World Cup 2016 against West Indies, has reportedly written a letter to BCCI to compensate him for the loss which he suffered after he missed few IPL games due to that injury.

As per BCCI ruling, the board compensates the players for the amount which they lose by being absent from any game, due to an injury which they suffer while on national duty. The most prominent example is that of Mohammad Shami, who was paid an amount of Rs 2.2 Crore after he missed IPL 2015 due to an injury which he suffered during World Cup 2015.

Same is the case here as the left-hander was injured while on national duty and has right to ask for the compensation,

“Yuvraj has written several letters to the BCCI officials and even his mother has been making the calls on his behalf. His Sunrisers teammate Ashish Nehra, who missed five games, has received his dues from the BCCI but surprisingly, Yuvraj’s case is in the limbo,” a BCCI official told Mumbai Mirror.

This year, many Indian players missed Indian Premier League due to injuries which they suffered while on national duty. KL Rahul and Murali Vijay were few of them, who were injured during the long Indian home season and then missed the complete IPL season. Vijay even said that he played the home season with an injured shoulder.

Meanwhile, the Indian selectors will announce the India squad for the New Zealand series soon, and if Yuvraj’s reports state that he is fit, then one should be not surprised if he makes a comeback in ODI squad.
