Yuvraj Singh Joins Maratha Arabians For Abu Dhabi T10 League

After the retirement, it seems like Yuvraj Singh have decided to have fun in his second innings. Following his presence in the recently-concluded Canada T20 League, Yuvraj Singh set to play for Maratha Arabians in the upcoming season of Abu Dhabi T10 League.
India’s twin World Cup-winning medallist (2007 & 2011) Yuvraj Singh was named Maratha Arabians’ Indian icon player for the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 tournament. The event is being staged under the support of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), with official approval of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Earlier, this year, Yuvraj retired from international cricket and is not bound by the BCCI’s rules about active players not being able to play in leagues outside the country. In the latest edition of the IPL earlier this year Yuvraj played for the Mumbai Indians but did not have the best season and finished with just 98 runs from four games.

Speaking of the new franchise, Yuvraj Singh quoted that he is pretty excited to play for Maratha Arabians in Abu Dhabi T10 League. He is thrilled to be part of the franchise and would like to test his skills out in the shortest format of the game. Yuvraj Singh compliments the officials of the tournament as well.
“It is an exciting new format to be part of. I am looking forward to joining forces with some of the world’s biggest names in this league. And also, representing team Maratha Arabians. It is going to be a thrilling time for the game of cricket. It’s heartwarming to see leagues like T10 putting in so much hard work. And, offering such exciting format for sports enthusiasts,” he said to the reporters.
Maratha Arabians Co-owner Parvez Khan said: “Yuvraj is a world-beater. We all know what he has achieved both on and off the field. His deeds speak for his brilliance. I wholeheartedly welcome Yuvraj to the Maratha Arabians family.”

The Arabians will be trained by former Zimbabwe captain and England’s head coach Andy Flower. They have the notable international cricketers like former West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo, Lasith Malinga and Chris Lynn. The Afghanistan duo of Hazratullah Zazai and Najibullah Zadran will also play for the Maratha side this season.
