Yuvraj Singh, the former two-time World Cup winner, is one of the greatest white-ball cricketers that India has ever seen.

Yuvraj announced his retirement from international cricket last year after having fallen out of selectors radar, three years after playing his last One-day International.

Yuvraj Singh has been pretty vocal about the treatment meted out to him by the selectors and the team management in the last few years.

Recently, Yuvraj commented on a post that said he is the 5th Indian cricketer to play 300 ODIs for the country, thanking his first captain Sourav Ganguly and the then selectors for giving him the opportunity.

“I think we should all thank @SGanguly99 and the first batch of my selectors for giving me this opportunity!” Yuvraj responded to the message.

In response to Yuvraj’s tweet, Harbhajan Singh cheekily asked: “Anything for the last batch??”

“Lol no comments,” Yuvraj responded.

Back in 2019, the southpaw had hit back at the Prasad-led committee, stating that India needs better selectors.

We do need better selectors, for sure. Selectors’ job is not easy. Whenever they select 15 players, there will be talks that what will happen to the other 15. It’s a difficult job but their thinking in terms of modern-day cricket is not up to the mark. It’s my opinion,” Yuvraj Singh had told a group of reporters.

And, a few months ago, Yuvraj Singh, in an interview with Sports Tak, had revealed how the selectors had ignored him back in 2017 despite him successfully passing the fitness [Yo-Yo] test.

“I got injured and I was told to prepare for the Sri Lanka series. Then suddenly, the yo-yo test came into the picture. It was a u-turn in my selection. Suddenly I had to go back and prepare for the yo-yo test at the age of 36. Even after I cleared the yo-yo test, I was told to play domestic cricket,” Yuvraj Singh said.

“They actually thought that I wouldn’t be able to clear the test due to my age. And that it would be easy to decline me afterwards…yeah you can say it was an exercise in making excuses,” Yuvraj Singh added.

Harbhajan Singh too, has been pretty vocal against the selectors. Recently, the off-spinner had alleged that selectors will not consider him for selection since they consider him too old.

They will not look at me because they feel I am too old,” he said. “Also I don’t play any domestic cricket. [In the] Last four-five years they did not look at me even though I was doing well in the IPL, taking wickets and I had all my records to back my case,” Bhajji added.
