Rajasthan Royals suffered a nightmare start against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 15th match of IPL 2020 in Abu Dhabi. Rajasthan Royals’ in-form batsman Sanju Samson was the latest casualty as he fell to Yuzvendra Chahal’s first ball of the match. The leggie took an excellent low catch to get rid of Sanju Samson for only four.
Rajasthan Royals walked into the match with one change as they swapped Mahipal Lomror for seamer Ankit Rajpoot. The Royals sustained their first loss of the current edition against Kolkata Knight Riders in their first game outside Sharjah. In contrast, RCB went with an unchanged line-up, one that prevailed over Mumbai Indians in the super over.

Meanwhile, after Rajasthan lost skipper Steve Smith and Jos Buttler, the responsibility fell on the shoulders of Sanju Samson. In Yuzvendra Chahal’s first ball of his over, the right-handed batsman drove it back to the bowler, who clung on to the catch. The on-field umpires doubted whether it was a clean catch. However, the third umpire found no conclusive evidence to overturn the on-field decision.
At the time of writing this, Rajasthan Royals were at 61-3 with Robin Uthappa and Mahipal Lomror beginning to find their stride.
