The all-rounder Krunal Pandya is a great addition to any franchise with his capabilities in all three departments and the franchises will certainly eye him in the mega auction. He recently made his ODI debut for India in the limited-overs series against England and showed his prowess with the bat in the middle order.
He did not have the greatest of IPL this season scoring 100 runs in the 7 games he played and picked up just 3 wickets. He is an important member of Mumbai Indian’s title-winning campaigns but they would be able to retain just five players and Krunal might not feature among them. Here are 3 teams that can target Krunal Pandya in IPL 2022 auction.
3 Teams Which Can Target Krunal Pandya:
Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Royal Challengers Bangalore will probably not retain Washington Sundar and their lack of all-rounders have hurt them in the past. Krunal Pandya can be used as a floater in the batting order with the likes of de Villiers and Kohli in the side and it will just add up to their finishers tally. He also gives four overs on most days.
Krunal Pandya brings a left-hand option into the mix and will be a great boost to have down the order. It just strengthens the batting order and Krunal is a versatile bowler who takes up the challenge of bowling the tough overs. He is a terrific fielder and Royal Challengers Bangalore should target him in the mega auction.
Delhi Capitals:
Delhi Capitals will have to let go of all-rounder Axar Patel into the auction as they might be able to retain just two Indians and one overseas if the mega auction takes place. They will mostly retain Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant which will allow open spots for the all-rounder in the middle order.
Krunal Pandya might be a like-to-like replacement for someone like Axar Patel and Krunal is a better batsman than Axar which might be the need of the hour for the franchise. Krunal can finish off games down the order and Delhi has generally liked to strengthen their Indian contingent which can be done through the inclusion of Krunal to their side if the mega auction takes place.
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
Sunrisers Hyderabad lack experienced and quality middle-order Indian batsmen in their line up and it has been a concern for them over the last two years. They have tried out Abdul Samad, Kedar Jadhav, Abishek Sharma, and Vijay Shankar, and neither of them looks to be contributing consistently.
Having an Indian all-rounder who can finish games down the order is a great privilege for any franchise and it does strengthen the balance of the side.
Sunrisers have been vastly affected by the lack of contributions from Indian batsmen and bringing in Krunal Pandya might just do wonders for the franchise. He has been part of a successful franchise like Mumbai Indians and can be the difference on the side.
