The Chadha Group is one corporate that will be interested to own a new franchise in IPL 2022. The Chadha group owns the Wave Group, which is a business conglomerate that deals in manufacturing, real estate, education, sports, and entertainment.  The Wave group was established in 1963 as a sugar cane crushing business. It was led by Gurdeep Singh Chadha till 2012. Since 2012, Manpreet Singh Chadha has led the Wave Group.

The Wave Group has various branches in business. Wave cinemas are their multiplex chain. They also have a real estate business and they have built residential and commercial projects like Wave City, Wave City Center, Wave Estate, and Wave One. In the education sector, Chadha Group has developed Genesis Global School, which is situated in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Chadha group is already involved in the sports business. They won Delhi Waveriders, a field hockey franchise based in Delhi that participates in Hockey India League. Therefore, Chadha Group might be interested in owning an IPL franchise in IPL 2022.

Adani Group

Adani Group is another corporate that might be interested to own an IPL franchise. Adani Group is owned by Gautam Adani and is an Indian multinational conglomerate. Adani Group might be interested in owning an IPL franchise as the group has taken many initiatives in sports. The Adani Group earlier launched the ‘Garv Hai’ program to support athletes in India. The program helped Indian athletes during Rio Olympics 2016. The group also founded Surguja Football Academy in Chhattisgarh. The Goenka group is also known as the RPSG group. RPSG group is another corporate that might be interested to own an IPL franchise in IPL 2022. RPSG group has earlier owned the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise in IPL 2016 and IPL 2017. The corporate group has many businesses in sectors like power, IT services, media and entertainment, consumer and retail, education, and sports.

The RPSG group earlier owned the ATK football franchise in Indian Super League. Later, the group acquired majority stakes in Mohan Bagan Football Club and now owns the new ISL franchise ATK Mohun Bagan. Moreover, the RPSG group also owns RPSG Mavericks Kolkata, a team that participates in the Ultimate Table Tennis league in India. Mohanlal Viswanathan is an Indian actor and businessman who has predominantly worked in Malayalam cinema. They withdrew the bid after they failed to source enough funds.

Mohanlal was the captain of the Kerala Strikers team in the Celebrity Cricket League in 2012 and 2013.
