The batsmen need to take a lot of risks to get to the century in the T20s and there are few players like Virat Kohli who can score centuries consistently in the T20s without taking many risks.

Chris Gayle is a master of scoring centuries in the T20 format and he has scored 22 centuries in the format already all around the globe. Rohit Sharma leads the chart in the list of batsmen with most T20 internationals with four to his name. However, it is time to look at 5 batsmen with the most T20 runs without scoring a century.

5. MS Dhoni – 6858 runs

MS Dhoni has been India’s talisman for the last decade or so and it very surprising that he features in the list of batsmen with most T20 runs without a century. Dhoni has scored 6858 runs in 338 T20 games at an average of 38.8 and a healthy strike rate of 135. At 39 years, he has retired from international cricket, but he is still captaining the Chennai Super Kings in IPL.

Dhoni is popularly called the captain cool for his ability to handle pressure in nervous situations and he always likes to be the man when the team needs him. He has scored 27 half-centuries in the format and his highest score has been 84 not out in T20s. Given that he bats in the middle order, it is tough for him to face enough balls to score a century and he stands fifth in the list.

4. Robin Uthappa – 6861 runs

Robin Uthappa was one of the key players in the T20 World cup win for India in 2007 and he is one of the excellent strikers of the cricket ball in India. The elegant right-hand batsman from Karnataka has played 273 T20 games scoring 6861 runs at an average of 28.4 and a strike rate of 133.

Uthappa bats in the top order mostly and he was traded from the Rajasthan Royals to the Chennai Super Kings squad for this edition. He has scored 38 half-centuries in the format and his highest score of 92. He is approaching the later stages of his career and he will be itching to score a century in the T20 format as soon as possible.

3. Kumar Sangakkara – 6937 runs

Kumar Sangakkara was one of the best batsmen to have played the game and one of the greatest Sri Lankan batsman too. The left-hander did not enjoy much success in T20 cricket as he did in ODI cricket and Test Cricket but still he was effective enough. He played 267 T20 games and scored 6937 runs at an average of 29.3 and a strike rate of 126.4.

Sangakkara played in the top order mostly and he is currently serving as the Director of Cricket for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 post-retirement. He had managed to score 43 half-centuries in the T20 format and his highest score has been 78. The legendary batsman stands third in the list of most runs without a century in the T20 format.

The England limited-overs skipper Eoin Morgan also features in the list and he is a destructive middle-order player. He took England to their maiden Worldcup win in 2019 with his captaincy and has been phenomenal with his contributions to the side. He is second in the list of batsmen with most runs without scoring a century in the T20s.

The 34-year-old has played 319 T20 games and has scored 7004 runs at an average of 27.1 and a strike rate of 132.5. He has scored 37 half-centuries in the format and his highest score is 91 so far. Morgan still has some more years of cricket left in him and he should be looking to attain the three-figure mark in the T20 format as soon as possible.

The veteran Pakistan batsman Shoaib Malik is still playing international cricket for Pakistan and he is still in the scheme of things for the T20 Worldcup this year. The 39-year-old has been playing franchise cricket around the world and he does have a lot of experience under his belt. He tops the list of batsmen with most runs without scoring a century in T20s.

The 39-year-old had played 169 T20 games and has scored 10488 runs at an average of 31.2 and a strike rate of 123.7. He has scored a stunning 64 half-centuries in the format and he is mostly used as a floater in the batting order. However, he doesn’t fail most of the time and does have a variety of shots.
