The ICC T20 World Cup was originally scheduled to be played in Australia last year but was postponed due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic. With his quickfire batting style and effective spin bowling, Jadeja has made himself a regular member of the Indian team in all three formats. In his last T20I game, which was against Australia in December 2020, the Indian all-rounder smashed crucial unbeaten 44 runs to help India reach a good score while batting first.

He was injured since then and returned to the field in IPL 2021. For Chennai Super Kings, the left-handed batsman scored 131 runs in 6 innings at an average of 131 and strike rate of 131. The left-arm spinner also picked 6 wickets while bowling at an economy of 6.70.

The right-handed batsman was also the highest run-scorer of the tournament. Prior to that, in the three-match T20I series against Australia in December 2020, Kohli emerged as the highest run-scorer for India with 134 runs in 3 matches along with a fifty.

In IPL 2021, the RCB skipper scored 198 runs in 7 matches along with an unbeaten fifty. He batted at an average of 33 and a strike rate of 121+. With the impeccable form that Virat Kohli currently owns in the T20I format, he can surely emerge as the man of the tournament in ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
