Sunrisers Hyderabad made an entry in IPL 2013 and Deccan Chargers franchise was terminated from the tournament. Since 2013, SRH have played 9 seasons in IPL so far. Out of 8 editions excluding IPL 2021, SRH have qualified for playoffs six times. The franchise won the IPL title in 2016 and qualified for playoffs in every subsequent season.
The franchise have been led by players like Kumar Sangakkara, Cameron White, Shikhar Dhawan, Dareen Sammy, David Warner, Kane Williamson, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the past. Warner has led the team since IPL 2015 except in IPL 2018 in which he didn’t play. In IPL 2021, Warner was replaced by Kane Williamson as the new skipper midway during the tournament.

Their journey ended after losing the Eliminator match to Rajasthan Royals. They scored 2298 runs in the tournament. Shikhar Dhawan scored the most runs for the team with 311 runs in 10 innings.
IPL 2014

In IPL 2014, the franchise was led by Shikhar Dhawan in the first 10 games and Darren Sammy in the last 4 matches. SRH played 14 matches in the tournament, winning 6 and losing 8. However, they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator match of playoffs and were ousted from the season. The David Warner-led side won 8 matches and lost 6 out of 15. One match ended with no result. The team scored 2349 runs in the season. David Warner was the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 641 runs in 14 innings.
IPL 2018

SRH was led by Kane Williamson in IPL 2018 in the absence of David Warner from the tournament. The team reached the final where they lost to Chennai Super Kings.
