Sunrisers Hyderabad did not enjoy any success in the recent IPL 2021 and their poor run of form was a testimony of the lack of depth in the squad in terms of the Indian contingent. The loss of T Natrajan was a big hampering in their season and they managed to win just one game out of the seven they played.

The management decision to drop David Warner may not be the best idea for their struggles and the Australian explosive opener hasn’t done much wrong. The middle-order worries seemed to be a concern again and they need a lot more quality Indian batsman who can deliver on a consistent basis. Here is the Sunrisers Hyderabad predicted playing XI if only Indian players played in the IPL.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted Playing XI If Only Indian Players Played In The IPL:

Abhishek Sharma:

Abhishek Sharma came up through the ranks in the U-19 Worldcup and was an exciting prospect picked up by the Delhi franchise in 2018. He was traded to the Sunrisers Hyderabad and ever since that he hasn’t been much effective. The Allrounder is one of the best timers of the cricket ball and does open the batting for Punjab in domestic games. He can bowl left-arm spin and he should make the playing XI.

Wriddhiman Saha(WK):

Wriddhiman Saha had two opportunities this season but he couldn’t make use of it and was dropped after that. The veteran wicket-keeper batsmen did really well for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last edition and looked like he is back in his prime best. He can do the glove work as well and he should open the batting alongside Abishek Sharma.

Manish Pandey:

Manish Pandey should bat at number three for the Sunrisers Hyderabad considering his experience in the IPL and he is more suited at the top order. He was dropped this season after few games for the concerns over his strike rate and he is one of the best fielders going around in the country. He is an important member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise and needs to pull up his socks soon.

Vijay Shankar:

Vijay Shankar will be the all-rounder in the side but Sunrisers Hyderabad will expect lot more contributions from the Tamil Nadu lad. He has got starts but hasn’t converted it into big ones and he could manage just 58 runs in the seven games. He is a far better batsman in T20 cricket and he can be a match-winner when he gets going. He should bat at number four for the side.

Priyam Garg:

Priyam Garg had an impressive season last year and the U-19 captain had shown lots of positive signs for the future of Indian cricket. He hasn’t got any opportunities this year and he still has a long way to go. He needs to make sure that he is consistent enough and make use of the chances he gets. He can certainly bat at number five for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Kedar Jadhav:

Kedar Jadhav is an experienced campaigner and has played for various IPL franchises in the past. He has been under scrutiny for his strike rates but he is one of the best finishers when he is in his prime mode. He played just four games this season and scored 40 runs in those games. He is also a handy part-time bowler and can be used if needed with the ball too.

Abdul Samad:

Abdul Samad should be used as a floater in the batting order according to the situation and the 19 year old from Jammu and Kashmir hits a long ball. He is heavily built and does generate a lot of power while striking the ball. He can also bowl some leg spin and can be groomed into a powerful finisher down the order. He will certainly make the playing XI for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar(C):

Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not have the best of IPL this season but he will captain the side if only Indian players are allowed. He has captained the franchise previously and has done a good job in the past with the leadership responsibilities. He picked up just three wickets in the five games and missed two games due to injury concerns. He is expected to take the new ball for the side.

Siddharth Kaul:

Siddharth Kaul did really well for the franchise in the 2018 and 2019 editions but lost his way after that and he has a lot of experience in the domestic circuit. He is a clever customer and executes the yorkers in the death overs too. He picked up three wickets in the three games this season and bowls the tough overs for the side. He should be preferred ahead of Sandeep Sharma with his match-winning abilities.

Shahbaz Nadeem:

Shahbaz Nadeem has been in and out of the side and he hasn’t been in great form off late. He played the one test against England this year and struggled to bowl at consistent lines and lengths. But he does have a lot of experience in the past and there aren’t many Indian spinners in the squad. He just played the one game this season and picked up one wicket but was expensive.

T Natrajan:

T Natrajan was the shining star of the IPL last season for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and he made the most out of his opportunities in the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar last season. He earned his call up to the Indian side after that and has been mastering the yorkers in the international stages too. He played just two games this season and had to miss out on injury.
