Dinesh Karthik Comes Up With Brilliant Reply After Fan Asks Him About Babar Azam

Dinesh Karthik has come up with a brilliant compliment for Pakistan captain Babar Azam ahead of the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. The Pakistan batting mainstay along with his teammates and support staff arrived in India on Wednesday (September 27) for the World Cup.

Most of the Pakistan players are visiting India for a cricket assignment for the very first time. The Men in Green are one of the favorites for the tournament. With the likes of Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and others in their ranks, Pakistan do have the ability to go all the way in the competition.

Pakistan’s fate will depend a lot on how their captain Babar Azam performs. The right-handed batsman is currently the number-one ODI batsman in the world and will be eyeing a successful campaign. He has faced severe criticism in recent times after his failure to do well in Asia Cup 2023 where Pakistan failed to make it to the final.

Dinesh Karthik recently interacted with his fans and followers on X (formerly Twitter). One of his followers asked him about Babar Azam. In reply, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman called the Pakistan star ‘high quality’ and wrote:

Dinesh Karthik will also be seen in action during the ODI World Cup although not as a cricketer. He will be plying his trade as a commentator during the competition. Not a part of the Indian team anymore, Dinesh Karthik last played a competitive game in May during IPL 2023.

His last appearance for Team India came in November last year during the T20 World Cup game against Bangladesh. Talking about the ODI World Cup 2023, the tournament will be played from October 5 to November 19. A total of 10 teams are participating in the event.
