Pakistan cricket team’s team bonding trip to Dubai next week has been canceled due to a delay in the arrival of their visa as per reports in ESPN Cricinfo. The side announced their 15-member squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 on Friday.
Babar Azam will lead the 15-member side with Shadab Khan a part of the squad. The Men in Green are without Naseem Shah who was ruled out of the tournament with a shoulder and wrist injury. Hasan Ali has been added to the side as his replacement.
Pakistan were supposed to fly to Dubai next week stay there for a couple of days and then travel to Hyderabad where they play their first game on October 6 against the Netherlands. This is Pakistan’s first trip to India in a decade. They last toured India in 2012-2013. Pakistan are scheduled to travel to India next week with the delay.
The delay in the arrangement of the visas will now subsequently delay Pakistan’s travel to India as well. They last won the World Cup in 1992 and have a chance this time around to repeat the heroics. They were recently the number one ODI team but a bad Asia Cup campaign has dethroned them from that position.

The Men in Green lost a virtual semi-final against Sri Lanka to bow out of the tournament. They had a good chance to make it to the final. However, a below-par performance knocked them out of the tournament.
There are concerns over the fitness of Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi after Naseem Shah was ruled out of the World Cup. Both Naseem and Haris did not play the final game against Sri Lanka as they were rested for precautionary measures. Haris has recently resumed bowling at the NCA facility in Lahore and working on his fitness ahead of the mega event.
