Ravichandran Ashwin Talks To Laxman Sivaramakrishnan After Latter Criticizes His Bowling Action On Twitter

Former Indian spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) in which he talked about some issues in Ravichandran Ashwin’s bowling action. Later, Ravichandran Ashwin called Laxman Sivaramakrishnan and had a chat about his bowling action.

Ravichandran Ashwin is part of India squad for ICC World Cup 2023. Ashwin has replaced injured Axar Patel in India squad who will not be able to play in the tournament after sustaining an injury during Asia Cup 2023.

After Ravichandran Ashwin was picked in the India squad for the premier tournament, former Indian spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan shared a photo of Ashwin on X and talked about some issues in his bowling action.

“This picture has gone viral on SM. Enlarge the image and you notice his non bowling arm and upper body has opened up towards the offside. If you look at his lower body is closed. This leads to lack of synchronisation. Ash quickly needs to correct this to be more effective,” Sivaramakrishnan wrote on X.

Reacting to Sivaramakrishnan’s posts, some fans trolled him and lashed out at him for his views. However, later Sivaramkrishan shared another post in which he revealed that Ravichandran Ashwin called him and had a chat about his bowling action. Sivaramakrishnan also revealed that Ashwin told him the trollers were not connected to him.

Ravichandran Ashwin showed superb form in the IND vs AUS ODI series, picking 3 wickets in the 2nd ODI. Due to his impressive show, selectors had to pick him in the squad as a replacement for Axar Patel.

Meanwhile, India’s warm-up match against England on Saturday in Guwahati was washed out due to rain. The men-in-blue are supposed to play another warm-up match against Netherlands. India will begin their journey in ICC World Cup 2023 with an encounter against Australia on October 8.
