S Sreesanth Responds To Simon Doull's Remarks About Indian Batters' Approach, Saying "Please Think Before You Speak"

Former fast bowler S Sreesanth took a dig at former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull’s remarks about India not playing fearless cricket. S Sreesanth stated that New Zealand was fortunate to win against the Men in Blue in the semi-final of the 2019 ODI World Cup.
The Kane Williamson-led team registered an 18-run victory over the Indian cricket team in the thrilling semi-final encounter at Old Trafford in 2019. Wicketkeeper batter MS Dhoni was dismissed by Martin Guptill’s direct hit when the team needed 25 runs off 10 deliveries.
We Will Thrash New Zealand – S Sreesanth
In an interaction with Sportskeeda, S Sreesanth criticized New Zealand’s performance in the final and predicted a challenging time for them in the 2023 World Cup. Sreesanth urged the former cricketers to think before speaking in the media.
“New Zealand are coming to India. They will get to know if India play attacking cricket or not. We will thrash them. They got lucky in 2019 with MS Dhoni getting run out due to a direct hit. What did you do after playing the final?” Sreesanth told Sportskeeda.
“They made a team like England win the World Cup, who hadn’t won a 50-over World Cup until then. New Zealand are never going to win.
“Yes, they might win in the future, but it will be embarrassing for them this time. If you get a chance address the media, please think before you speak. If you are ready to give, you should be able to take it also,” he added.
The Black Caps faced a heartbreaking defeat to England based on the boundary count in the final match of the showpiece event. The Kiwis reached the finals of the last two editions of the ODI World Cup.
It Will Be A Lot Of Fun Out To Watch – S Sreesanth
Sreesanth stated that if Virat Kohli and other players become aware of Simon Doull’s comments, India will perform exceptionally well against New Zealand in the upcoming match in the World Cup 2023.
“I just want to tell Simon Doull that Indians are going to have a blast against New Zealand. New Zealand are going to learn a lot against India,” he further added.
“Yes, there have been certain matches where they have done well against us, especially in ICC events. But those times have gone now. If any of these cricketers get to know what you said, and if Virat is made aware of it, it will be a lot of fun to watch that match.”
Simon Doull recently stated that the Indian men’s team tends to play cricket driven by statistics rather than fearlessly. Doull suggests that some Indian batters prioritise their personal statistics over a fearless approach to the game.
