ENG vs WI: England’s (ENG) Predicted Playing XI Against West Indies (WI) – ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Match 14. The number one ranked T20 side, England would be keen to win their second T20 World Cup title ahead of the start of the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
The last time when the T20 World Cup was staged by ICC, England exhibited sensational performances and went on to reach the final of the tournament. However, some sensational ball-striking from Carlos Brathwaite in the final over of the match denied them their second title.
Ahead of their first game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, England will, once again, meet West Indies at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of England against West Indies.
ENG vs WI: England’s (ENG) Predicted Playing XI against West Indies (WI)- ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Match 14
Openers: Jos Buttler and Jason Roy

Jos Buttler and Jason Roy are most likely to open the innings for England ahead of the first game against West Indies. There is no denying that Jos Buttler is going to be vital to England’s fortune in the tournament.
He is one of the best batsmen in the shortest format, averaging more than 50 as an opener in T20 internationals. Buttler produced a stellar knock of 73 runs off 51 balls in the warm-up game against New Zealand.
England will have a real chance of winning the game if Buttler plays another such knock on Saturday. Jason Roy’s record in T20 cricket isn’t ordinary either. His consistency is an issue but once he gets set, England would feel a lot more comfortable about their chances.
Middle-order: Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone and Eoin Morgan

There have been reports that David Malan might make way for Moeen Ali at number three. However, England are likely to make him play, at least for the game against West Indies. Jonny Bairstow is likely to come at four and Liam Livingstone at number five.
Both are in sensational form and can do some damage in the middle overs. Eoin Morgan’s poor form is a bit of a concern. England would be hoping that he returns to form as soon as possible.
All-rounder: Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, David Willey

The presence of Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes and David Willey would provide depth in the batting. Moeen Ali all-round abilities should prove handy for such a tournament. Chris Woakes’s might not extract swing on UAE surfaces but if he could use his cutters well, he can make great returns.
Willey has been outstanding for the last few years now. He missed out on the 2019 World Cup cup but seals his place for the ongoing tournament. He has proved effective in whatever opportunities have been meted out to him. Expect him to deliver a vital spell on Saturday if he gets an opportunity.
Bowlers: Chris Jordan, Mark Wood, and Adil Rashid

Mark Wood and Chris Jordan are likely to lead the pace department. Mark Wood showed what he can do with the ball in the last warm-up game against New Zealand. Chris Jordan, on the other hand, will have the responsibility of bowling the death overs. Adil Rashid is a certainty in the playing XI. He will be the lead spinner in the attack
