KL Rahul has been the number one opener for India in T20 cricket for the last two years and he has been very destructive with the bat in the warm-up games for India. He looked in sublime touch in the IPL 2021 towards the end and has been unstoppable when he gets going in the powerplay. He can take the game away from the opponents quickly and he can play a big role while opening the innings.

The Pakistan skipper Babar Azam hasn’t played a big knock in the warm-up games but he still remains the best batsman from the side. Babar has been very effective in T20Is when he opens the batting and he uses the powerplay to his full advantage. He is one of the best limited-overs batsmen in the world with an average of nearly 47 in T20 internationals.

Virat Kohli is an automatic choice for any team in the world and he can captain the side as well for the combined XI. Kohli’s record in T20 World cups is amazing and his numbers are staggering. The Indian skipper hasn’t been in the best of forms off late but he is a match-winner and his consistency in limited-overs format is unmatchable.

Hafeez is a versatile batter and has immense experience under his belt to take his side home in the middle order. His off-spin bowling is very underrated but he can bowl with the new ball as well as keep the run flow down.

Shoaib Malik initially did not find a place in the Pakistan T20 World Cup squad but later was added to the squad and it is the best thing that could happen to the men-in-green side. Malik has been around the international circuit for over two decades and he possesses a wide range of six-hitting skills. He has been playing T20 cricket around the globe and is best suited to the finishing role.

Pant also brings a left-handed option into the mix as there aren’t any left-handers in the top five and he can be used as a floater as well. He has been in good form recently and should make the playing XI of any squad.

Imad Wasim:

Imad Wasim is one of the most economical T20 bowlers in the world and he hardly bowls loose deliveries in the powerplay. He has the ability to tonk it down the order as well and he will use it at number seven. The fact that he bowls a lot more than Jadeja has got his name on the side.

Hasan Ali:
