IRE vs NED Head to Head Records: Ireland’ (IRE) H2H Record Against Netherlands (NED)- ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The third match of the ICC 2021 World Cup sees the Netherlands take on Ireland on Monday at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. Both these teams have made a lot of improvements over the last decade or so and are currently two of the strongest associate nations in the world.
Ireland are ranked 13 on the points table. They won both the games in their last two warm-up fixtures against Papua New Guinea and Bangladesh. In the recent five-match T20 series against Zimbabwe, Ireland won the series by a 3-2 margin. They are in pretty good form and would be hopeful of a strong showing in the big-ticket event.

Paul Sterling and Kevin O’Brien will be their biggest bets in the batting department. Both hold key to Ireland’s fortune in the tournament. Their middle-order is the most consistent and the duo knows that quite well.
The opening duo needs to come well if they fancy a win against a strong Netherland side. Sterling led the run-charts against Zimbabwe in the T20 series, scoring 234 runs in 5 matches at an average of 58.50. Kevin O Brien scored 148 in 5 matches at an average of close to 30. Skipper, Andrew Balbirnie didn’t have the best of the outings in the series.
In 5 games, all he scored was 82 runs at 16.40. Having said that, he would still be one of the key batsmen in the line-up. In the last warm-up fixture against Bangladesh, Balbirnie made 25 off 22 and that should give him some confidence heading into an important encounter on Monday.
In the bowling department, Mark Adair picked the most number of wickets in the five T20 internationals against Zimbabwe. In 3 matches, he picked 10 wickets at an outstanding average of 5.70. Shane Getkate picked 8 wickets in 5 games at 15.12. Both would be key to Ireland’s fortunes in the tournament.

On the other hand, Netherlands currently sits at 13th position in the ICC’s T20 rankings. The presence of a lot of experienced campaigners in the team should keep them in good stead. Netherland won and lost one match apiece in their warm-up fixtures.
The Netherlands exhibited its batting prowess in the last game against Oman. A collective batting effort helped them score a competitive 165-run total in the first innings. Myburgh set the foundation for the Netherlands with a 43 off 38, while Ben Cooper guided the side to a good score, thanks to his 40 off 28 balls. The bowling wasn’t too impressive but, in the end, managed to win the game by 4 runs.
Vivian Kingma was the most impressive for the Netherlands, finishing with figures of 2 for 32 in 4 overs. Nevertheless, the team would be hopeful of a better bowling performance in the big game on Monday.
