Star Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is having a sensational run in T20 Internationals in the year 2021. He has been consistently scoring big runs for Pakistan and in the process, he has become the first-ever player in the history of the T20 Internationals to smash 1000+ runs in a calendar year.
Rizwan achieved this enormous milestone in the semi-final 2 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 against Aaron Finch-led Australia National Cricket Team at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, November 11.

Before Rizwan, the record of most runs in a calendar year in T20I was held by Ireland batter Paul Stirling who smashed 748 runs in just 20 innings in 2019 at an average of 41.55 and strike rate of 140.60. During this period he also smashed 8 half-centuries.

Meanwhile, now Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are ruling the most runs in a calendar year chart and the Pakistan openers are the only two batters in the history of T20 Internationals to score 800+ runs in a calendar year.

The Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has played 23 T20 Internationals games in the year 2021 and he has smashed 826 runs at an average of 43.47 and a strike rate of 130.28 including 8 fifties and one century.
Talking about Mohammad Rizwan he too has played 23 T20 International games for Pakistan National Cricket Team in 2021 and he has smashed 1033 runs at an average of 86.08 and strike rate of 136.45 Mohammad Rizwan has also smashed 10 half-centuries and one century during this period with his highest score being unbeaten 104.
Rizwan has been the backbone of the Pakistan batting unit in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. He has played all 6 games for the team and has scored 281 runs at an average of 93.66.
