Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra reviewed the Pakistan side’s strengths and weaknesses ahead of their important T20 World Cup clash against India. Chopra stated that Pakistan has a lot of ‘grafters’ but lacks the death overs hitter.

Babar Azam and co. have a strong all-round side and could be the dark horses going into the tournament. They have a good mixture of youth and experience but what they lack in their batting lineup is a big-hitter, as per Chopra.

They have got a lot of grafters in the batting line-up. Rizwan, Babar, Hafeez. But the only thing missing is the strike-power. They don’t have players who can hit big shots in death overs like Pollard or Andre Russell,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

“Spinning all-rounders are their strength” – Aakash Chopra

Further, Chopra mentioned how the Pakistan team is stacked on spinning all-rounders. Most of their batting lineup can roll their arms when needed, and will definitely receive help from the slower surfaces in the UAE. The added advantage of having played for more than ten years in the UAE can also favor Pakistan.

Their bowling unit is good. They’ve got a lot of those spinning all-rounders. Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, and Shoaib Malik can also bowl.

Spinners will largely be useful on these surfaces. Their biggest strength lies in their bowling unit with pacers like Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Hasan Ali with them,” Chopra further said.

Aakash Chopra also added that the two teams are likely to meet in the final, which will be a repeat of the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup.
