Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has jokingly advised the Babar Azam-led side to ask India’s mentor, MS Dhoni, not to bat in the India-Pakistan game.
India and Pakistan are placed in the Group 2 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, along with New Zealand, Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia. The highly anticipated battle between arch-rivals India & Pakistan is all set to commence on 24 October at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, the former Pakistan pacer jokingly advised Pakistan to give sleeping pills to India. Shoaib Akhtar also urged Pakistan to stop Indian captain Virat Kohli from using Instagram.
“Give sleeping pills to India first. Second, stop Virat Kohli from using Instagram for two days (chuckles). And third, ask MS Dhoni to not come to bat himself, I am telling you he’s still the most in-form batter,” Akhtar said.
Pakistan Needs To Open In A Manner Where You Can Get A Good Start – Shoaib Akhtar
Former Pakistan pacer also had some genuine advice for the team. Akhtar asked Pakistan openers to provide a good start to the team and avoid playing dot balls. Also, he advised bowlers to go aggressive and bag wickets while defending the good target. He said:
“Pakistan needs to open in a manner where you can get a good start. Then, Pakistan will have to avoid dot balls, play run-a-ball for 5-6 overs then take the strike rate up. And when it comes to bowling, if you have a good total, then make sure you are out there and take wickets.”

Shoaib Akhtar was also asked to pick his trump card, and he picked Asif Ali.
“Asif Ali strikes well in the lower order. I think he can be a player to look out for,” he asserted.
