Aakash Chopra believes Thursday’s game between Australia and Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup will see a lot of fast deliveries being bowled since both sides have express pacers in their playing XI. He also felt that the powerplay will see wickets tumble from both sides.

Chopra made his predictions for tonight’s matchup between Aaron Finch’s men and Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka. Both the teams head into the game with a win on their back and will look to join England at the top of the group.

If we combine the powerplay overs of both teams, I feel three wickets will fall. Aaron Finch and Warner’s form on one side and Kusal Perera on the other side, and the truth is that the bowling is going to be extremely fast, whether it is Starc, Cummins, or Josh Hazlewood. I feel three or more wickets can fall. Starc plus Cummins equals four-plus wickets. I feel like the two of them together can take four or more wickets,” Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

“I feel that Australia will win this encounter” – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra also stated that the Aussies are the bigger favourites to win the matchup. He feels that in-form batsman, Glenn Maxwell, and Steve Smith are very much capable of putting big scores on the board tonight in Dubai.

Maxwell and Smith can score more than 75 runs, I also feel like that. I also feel that Australia will win this encounter, which means Australia would have won two out of two. They will join England and Pakistan. It is possible Sri Lanka might do that as they also won their first match,” Chopra added.

The winner of tonight’s match will have two wins in two games and will likely be in second place behind England, who have a far superior run rate courtesy of two thumping wins.
