Virat Kohli Will Surely Take India To The T20 World Cup 2021 Win – Farokh Engineer

Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Farokh Engineer feels that Indian captain Virat Kohli will take India to a title win in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, which commenced on Sunday 17 October.

India National Cricket Team is placed in the Group 2 of the tournament alongside Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan. The Men In Blue will commence their journey in the T20 World Cup with a battle against arch-rivals Pakistan on 24 October in Dubai.

Meanwhile, Farokh Engineer labelled Kohli as a ” fantastic leader” and was confident that India will win the World Cup in the presence of “class players” in the team.

“World T20 will be the best opportunity for Virat Kohli to take India to a (title) win. He is a fantastic leader who leads by example. India are dominant in big tournaments and this will be a big opportunity for the team.

“Virat will surely take India to the World Cup T20 win this time. India have class players in T20Is. KL Rahul, Virat, Rishabh, Bumrah all can turn matches on their own,” Engineer told TimesofIndia.com.

Further Farokh Engineer lavished praise on the Indian captain and said Kohli is one of the best Indian captains of all time, and his hunger for the win makes him special. Engineer stated:

“Virat is fantastic. He is one of the best captains India has produced. His energy, plans, dominations, and execution cannot be matched. He fuels energy in the team. He is always hungry for runs and wins. That’s his best quality. That’s what is taking the Indian team forward. Look at the fitness level of the team. It is just amazing,” 

So far, Virat Kohli, the captain, has not won a senior ICC trophy, and he has announced that he will be stepping down from T20I captaincy after the conclusion of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Virat Kohli Has Got Match-winners In The Team – Farokh Engineer

The former wicketkeeper-batsman said that the Indian skipper Kohli knows how to utilise his players properly, and he has match-winners in the team.

“Virat knows how to use his players in any situation. And he has got match-winners in the team. Bumrah and Pandya are two of the biggest match-winners in Virat’s team. He is making his own team for the T20 World Cup,” Engineer said.

Farokh Engineer further added that India are favourite to win the World Cup, and he is confident that India will have a dominant run in the mega event. He stated:

“Whenever India play against any team and in any format, they are favourites. They will enter the World T20 as top favourites. They are one of the best teams in the world. The way they are playing, they can definitely go on and win the T20 World Cup. I am sure Virat will lead India to the T20 World Cup win. India will be a dominant side in the tournament,”
