We are at the business end of the tournament, Australia will go up against Afghanistan in the 38th match of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide. Australia have 5 points from 4 games so far and is stationed at the third position in Group 1 points table due to their negative net run rate.

Their game against England was abandoned due to rain but they went on to get brilliant wins against Sri Lanka and Ireland. Aaron Finch and Tim David had hamstring issues in their previous game and are yet to get a green signal. David Warner needs to step up with the bat and will be crucial in taking Australia off to a good start in the powerplay.

Marcus Stoinis too was injured but has recovered and is fit to play this encounter. It’s not just a must-win game for Australia but they also need to win it by a good margin to stay alive in the tournament.

Afghanistan has been one of the most unfortunate teams of this T20 World Cup so far. They have only two points under their name and both of them are due to washed-outs against New Zealand and Ireland. They lost their first game against England despite a valiant effort in a low-scoring encounter. In their last game, Afghanistan suffered a defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka, which knocked them out of the hunt for Semis. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be key for the team’s prospects against the Aussies.
