England played one warm-up match earlier against Pakistan, which they comfortably won by 6 wickets. With the help of a 39-run knock by opener Shan Masood, Pakistan scored 160-8 in the 1st innings. Later, Harry Brook and Ben Stokes slammed 45* and 36 respectively to drive England to victory by 6 wickets.

Talking about Afghanistan, the team outplayed Bangladesh in their warm-up match. Batting first, Afghanistan put up 160-7 on the scoreboard. Ibrahim Zadran hit 46 while Mohammad Nabi slammed an unbeaten 41. Later, Bangladesh could only reach 98-9 in 20 overs, losing the match by 62 runs.
