ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022: "You Will Need Somebody With That Kind Of Pace" - Danish Kaneria Feels Umran Malik Should Have Been Included In India's Squad

India’s Squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has been making a lot of headlines. Many experts believe that Shami should have been in the squad ahead of Harshal Patel. It looks like the selection committee has chosen youth over experience. The young speedster Umran Malik’s absence is also surprising as he has shown in IPL that he can be a force to reckon with.

The Selection Committee would be hoping that the duo of Rohit Sharma & Rahul Dravid produce a better performance this time as we all have seen the disastrous ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The boundaries in Australia would be very long as compared to UAE where the batters will have to target short boundaries & apply the calculative approach.

Danish Kaneria on Umran Malik

Danish Kaneria was speaking on his YouTube channel and was talking about Umran Malik. ‘They could have also tried Umran Malik. India will need a bowler who can bowl at a good pace on the Australian tracks. Jasprit Bumrah is returning from an injury and it will take time to regain the rhythm.” said Danish Kaneria

“I know he is still very raw. But you will need somebody with that kind of pace. Umran should have been there in place of Avesh at the Asia Cup. This would have given them a clearer idea.” added the spinner.

Powerful Indian bowling attack

The addition of Bumrah & Harshal has made the Men in Blue quite dangerous. The management would be quite aware that they need some game time before hitting the purple patch. Both the pacers are coming back from injuries and making a comeback is always tough.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will have to make sure that he is not getting thrashed at the death overs. There is no doubt that the pacer is one of the best with the new ball in hand, but the pacer needs to work on his Yorkers & slow deliveries to deceive the batters. The trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah & Harshal Patel have the calibre to dismantle the opposition on any given day.
