Legendary West Indies National Cricket Team batter Sir Viv Richards has said that he has been a huge fan of the India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma even before he took over as the skipper of the Indian team.
The 35-year-old Rohit is all set to lead the Men In Blue in his first World Cup in the upcoming edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is scheduled to commence on October 16 with the group stage matches.

The Super 12 round will commence on October 22 and the final is set to take place on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their tournament opener on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
During a conversation with veteran journalist Vimal Kumar, Richards said that he has always liked Rohit. He said:
“I have always liked Rohit and especially when Virat was the captain. I have been a big fan of Rohit even before he became the captain.”

Richards further hailed Indian batting greats – Tendulkar and Kohli – and stated that there is mutual respect between them. He elaborated:
“There is mutual respect between me and Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. I do have a lot of respect for what they have achieved. I admire Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
“I admire him and all those individuals who have built Indian cricket and played a vital role in making it the place it is today. I am a fan of good batsmen and you guys mean that great batsmen have always come to India.”
