ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Big Injury Scare For India As Deepak Hooda Suffers A Back Injury Ahead Of The Marquee Event

India National Cricket Team have suffered a big injury scare ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 as the star batting all-rounder Deepak Hooda has suffered a back injury.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is the eighth edition of the multi-nation tournament. The marquee tournament is scheduled to commence on October 16 with the group stage round. The Super 12 round will commence on October 22 and the summit clash is set to take place on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

India are placed in Group 2 of the tournament along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa. Also, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have already named India’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 and Deepak Hooda, who made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in February 2022, is part of the 15-member team.
Deepak Hooda Sustains Back Injury Before 3rd IND vs AUS T20I
The third and final match of the three-match T20I series between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Aaron Finch-led Australia National Cricket Team was played on Sunday, September 25, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.
After the toss, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the team news on Twitter and revealed that Deepak Hooda was unavailable for selection for the third T20I after sustaining a back injury.
“Deepak Hooda wasn’t available for selection for the third #INDvAUS T20I owing to a back injury,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tweeted.

No clarification was given on the extent of Deepak Hooda’s injury or recovery time. Meanwhile, India won the third and final T20I match of the series by 6 wickets against Australia to clinch the series victory by 2-1.
