ICC T20 World Cup 2022: "Bowling Attack Without Jasprit Bumrah Will Make Teams Reconsider Batting Approach Against India"- Sanjay Bangar

Indian Cricket Team is still yet to name a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. The right arm pacer got ruled out of the tournament with a back injury. The speedster is not only famous for his Yorkers but he has a lot of variations which can easily deceive the batters.
India has got a couple of options in store for Bumrah’s replacement in the form of Shami & Siraj. There are chances that India may opt for Mohammed Siraj as the pacer has got some serious pace which can prove to be too hot to handle. The problem with Shami is that he is not match-fit and within 2 weeks regaining fitness would be a bit tough.

Sanjay Bangar on Jasprit Bumrah
The former Batting Coach was having an interaction with Star Sports and was asked about Jasprit Bumrah. “There were really small sings of concerns, because when Jasprit Bumrah did not play the first match (against Australia at Mohali), then he played the second game (at Nagpur) and then suddenly he was rested (Bumrah played in Hyderabad but didn’t play Thiruvananthapuram match due to back complaint.),” said Bangar
“You suddenly start to think whether this is serious, because he had been out on rest and rehab for a long time, and he was somebody who was given the task of strengthening,” he added.

“It comes as a huge blow because an Indian attack without Jasprit Bumrah means that a lot of teams will start thinking differently as to how they would approach their batting against the Indian bowling attack,” he added.
“So huge blow for India; but again, in sport, one man’s loss is another man’s opportunity. Hopefully, maybe a Deepak Chahar or Shami or Arshdeep can be there and leave a mark on the World Cup Down Under,” he concluded
Conundrum for Management
The Men in Blue wouldn’t have expected that they going to participate in a marquee event without their two-star players: Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah. India doesn’t have a shortage of quality players and making a change in the 11th hour can prove to be quite risky.

Head Coach Rahul Dravid & Skipper Rohit Sharma will have to make a smart decision. There’s no doubt that Siraj is a sensational fast bowler whereas Shami is an experienced campaigner. BCCI knows the importance of this T20 World Cup as last time they received a lot of criticism for their poor performance.
