ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Ex-Pakistan Star Compares Team's New Jersey To 'Watermelon'

A lot of teams have revealed their new jersey for the highly anticipated ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Pakistan’s new jersey has had quite mixed reviews where fans have criticised the board. Jersey has shades of blue which are quite alike to their regular uniform.
When T20 World Cup 2022 is around the corner and Pakistan Cricket Team is in tatters, such sort of criticism can shake the confidence of players. The fans have seen in the recently-concluded Asia Cup 2022 and in the 1st T20I match against England that Pakistani middle-order batters stutter where all the hard work of the top-order batters gets ruined.
Danish Kaneria on Jersey
The former leg spinner was seen talking on his YouTube channel and made a hilarious remark on Pakistan Jersey.
“Pakistan’s T20 World Cup jersey looks like a watermelon. It seems they got the inspiration while playing Fruit Ninja. There should have been a proper dark green color instead of what they went ahead with. This one makes you feel like you are standing at a fruit shop.” he said.
“We are on the road to the World Cup. The kind of performance that we were expecting from the two teams – India and Pakistan – after the Asia Cup is nowhere to be seen.
“One lost to England and the other lost to Australia. What are the two Asian powerhouses up to? Time is very short and you need to gear up,” he added.
Pakistan in Deep Trouble
The recent defeat has once again raised questions over Pakistan’s middle order. It looks like PCB wants Babar & Rizwan to smash centuries and score big totals. One should not forget that cricket is a team sport, not an individual one.
The ever-reliant Rizwan is not a run-making machine that will keep on piling up runs.
Moreover, the batting coach Mohammad Yousuf’s role would be questioned as none of the middle-order batters can capitalize on the start. Besides, six more T20Is are remaining against resurgent England where the management needs to pull a rabbit out of a hat. There is no doubt that Pakistan has one of the best bowling lineups but they need support to win matches.
