Pakistan Cricket Team is on a roll at the moment. The Men in Green from nowhere qualified for the Semi-Finals and produced a scintillating performance against Mighty New Zealand. Pakistan showed great fighting spirit as making a comeback after losing the first two matches was never easy.

England on the other hand has been ruthless as not many gave them a chance after losing narrowly against Ireland. England produced one of the finest performances against India where they completely dominated the terms against India. It won’t be wrong to say that both Pakistan and England have peaked at the right time.

Matthew Hayden on Pakistan

Pakistan Batting Consultant Coach Matthew Hayden made some interesting comments on the team. “Babar Azam was reliving some of those stories around the ’92 World Cup. And I think that’s great because that’s why you play the game. These boys …. their careers will be but a blink and they’ll be looking back on this tournament.” said Matthew Hayden.

“And they’ll tell these stories around campfires in their villages, in media conferences like the one we are here and it will be an important chapter of Pakistan cricket – as the ’92 campaign was.” he added.

Great Chance for Pakistan

It would sound a bit odd but Pakistan has a great chance to recreate the 1992 triumph. The format may be different but there are a lot of similarities with the 1992 campaign. The Men in Green will have to be spot on as England already has an edge over Pakistan; before the commencement of the T20 World Cup, England had won the T20I Series in Pakistan by 4-3.

England would be hoping that they continue their winning run and win their second T20 World Cup. 2010 Champions have got the pace attack and a lot of depth as defeating them won’t be easy by any means. The Men in Green would rely a lot on Shaheen Afridi to provide initial break-throughs to the team as his opening spell would most likely decide the 2022 T20 World Cup Champions
