New Zealand Cricket Team registered a thumping victory against the defending champions Australia. The Black Caps won the match by 89 runs and bundled out Australia in 17.1 overs. New Zealand dominated the match and never gave them a chance to the Aussies to make a comeback.
Australia on the other hand would be in shock as losing by such a huge margin raises question marks over their team’s preparation. Not a single batter scored 30 runs which are quite rare given the depth Australia has. It looked as if Australia were not ready for the clash.

Devon Conway on Fire
The left-handed batter smashed an unbeaten 92 runs in 58 balls where he struck 7 fours and 2 sixes. The batter was in sublime form as he was easily whacking the bowlers all around the park. New Zealand would be delighted that one of the top-order got huge runs under his belt. The batter was quite good at rotating the strike which frustrated the bowlers a lot.

Australia in Disarray
The Australian batters showed no intent throughout the run chase. Chasing 201 runs is never easy but a strong partnership of 70-80 runs can give some sort of hope to the team. The Defending Champions had a terrible start to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 where they were comprehensively beaten in all departments of the game.

New Zealand would be mightily pleased with this performance as they already are placed in a precarious group. The Black Caps showed some scintillating fielding and it never looked like they had a poor record in Australia. Skipper Kane Williamson was marshaling his troops and rotating the bowlers smartly.
