ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Points Table After Pakistan vs Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe Cricket Team won a thriller against Pakistan where they won the match by 1 run. Zimbabwe showed great character and fighting spirit as defending 131 runs is never easy. Due to this victory, Zimbabwe now has 3 points to their name whereas Pakistan now has lost two back-to-back matches.
Zimbabwe had won the toss and elected to bat first. The team had got off a flyer as they scored 47 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Pakistan in the middle overs phase dragged Zimbabwe down and reduced them from 95-3 to 95-7 in a span of 6 balls 13.4 overs to 14.4 overs. Zimbabwe somehow managed to score a below-par 130 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Zimbabwe Bowlers Pull Off a Heist
Zimbabwe’s fast bowlers bowled immaculate lines and lengths and got two important breakthroughs of Babar and Rizwan. Pakistan managed to score only 28 runs in the power-play overs where Pakistan batters were facing a tough time in the middle.
Shan Masood and Shadab Khan tried to resurrect the innings and were involved in a 52 runs partnership. The duo was focused on rotating the strike. Shan was making sure that he gets an odd boundary.
Sikandar Raza changed the facets of the match as in the 14th over, he took crucial wickets of Shadab Khan and Haider Ali. The off-spinner was quite unpredictable and later in the 16th over he got the threatening Shan Masood. The spinner had remarkable figures of 3 for 25 in 4 overs.
Mohammad Nawaz, the dashing left-handed batter was expected to take the team over the finish line. The pinch hitter got dismissed when the team required 3 runs from 2 balls where Brad Evans got rid of him. In the last ball, Shaheen Afridi was on the strike and he managed to score one after getting run out while taking the second run.
Zimbabwe would be over the moon as now they are in 3rd position with an NRR of +0.050. Pakistan on the other hand would be in a state of shock as now they are on the brink of getting eliminated from the tournament. Pakistan’s NRR is -0.050.
