ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Rahmanullah Gurbaz Sent For Scans As Shaheen Shah Afridi Rattles Him With An Inswinging Yorker

The 20-year-old Afghanistan National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz was taken for scans during the ICC Men’s T20 World 2022 warm-up game after he was hit on the toe by Pakistan National Cricket Team left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up game between Mohammad Nabi-led Afghanistan National Cricket Team and Shadab Khan-led Pakistan National Cricket Team is being played at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, Woolloongabba, Brisbane, on Wednesday, October 19.

Pakistan National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. In the first over itself Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is making a comeback in the World Cup after recovering from a knee injury, got the breakthrough for his side as his deadly toe-crushing yorker cleaned up the young wicketkeeper-batter Gurbaz for a golden duck.

On the 5th ball of the first over, Shaheen bowled an inswinging yorker. The Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter had no answer to the toe-crushing yorker, he got pinned on the boot adjacent to the middle and leg and got out LBW.

After getting out, Rahmanullah Gurbaz had to be carried off the field by a teammate. Also, the commentators on air mentioned that the young wicketkeeper-batter has been taken for scans after getting hit on the toe.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan National Cricket Team will be hopeful of the young wicketkeeper-batter Gurbaz getting fully fit ahead of their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 opener against England National Cricket Team. The match between Jos Buttler-led England and Mohammad Nabi-led Afghanistan will be played at the Perth Stadium on Saturday, October 22.

Talking about Pakistan National Cricket Team, they will lock horns with arch-rivals India National Cricket Team in their tournament opener on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
