Mitchell Marsh, the all-rounder who helped Australia win the T20 World Cup, has said he is not surprised by Cameron Green‘s outstanding achievements so far in his career, especially after the latter scored a 19-ball fifty against India in the most recent T20I series.

Green’s eye-catching onslaught at the top of the order during Australia’s recent tour of India was outstanding, despite the fact that he was left out of the 15-man World Cup team.

Marsh showered the 23-year-old with plaudits for displaying excellent talents and playing to the demands of the squad.

“People from the outside might be surprised but no one’s surprised internally. He’s a super talent. He was given a role to go out and be really aggressive.

Most importantly for me, it’s the unselfishness he’s got incredible skill, but for a young guy who hasn’t got a cemented spot in that team to play fearless cricket, that shows more about him than his actual skill,” said Marsh as quoted by cricket.com.au.

“To have someone like him not in your team, it shows how good we are. We’re the defending world champions for a reason,” he added.

The 23-year-old Cameron Green is a part of the team for the forthcoming T20I series against the West Indies in Brisbane and Gold Coast, but he might not play since Mitchell Starc, Marsh, David Warner, Marcus Stoinis, and the other players who were absent for the India series will be returning.

It’s Just The Start Of His T20 Career: Mitchell Marsh Expects Huge Earnings For Cameron Green

Mitchell Marsh is also confident that Green will make truckloads of money because of his exceptional skills with both the bat and the ball.

Green had only participated in one international T20 game prior to the series, but in his first try to begin the innings, he ripped off scores of 61 (off 30 balls), 5, and 51. (off 25).

His fast ascent into the Test arena has reduced his white-ball potential, but he may suddenly become very well known.

“It’s just the start of his T20 career. The amount of money he’s going to earn over the next 10 years, I’m going to be looking for a couple of free feeds,” Marsh said.

The IPL has long had a strong market for Australian all-rounders, as Marsh and Stoinis, who both received multi-million dollar contracts, can confirm.

Mitchell Marsh Ready For Comeback

After a standout limited-overs campaign last month in which he concluded an improbable comeback victory against New Zealand with an unbeaten 89 after claiming his maiden five-wicket haul in an international ODI match against Zimbabwe, Green put up an amazing display in India.

Mitchell Marsh has recovered from an ankle injury he sustained last month when playing against Zimbabwe in Townsville. That year, Australia’s first men’s T20 championship was made possible in large part because to his ascension to the number three spot.

“I’m feeling great. The ankle over the last 10 days has come along really well. I’m back running, doing everything so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in,” he mentioned as quoted by Cricket Australia.

For a two-match T20I series starting on October 5 in Queensland and the second T20 on October 7 in Brisbane, Australia will welcome the West Indies.
