Aakash Chopra, a former Indian batter, asserted that the West Indies cricket system is flawed if Andre Russell is not picked for the T20 World Cup team.
Chopra gave his opinion on the situation surrounding Andre Russell’s exclusion from the T20 World Cup.

Russell is regarded as one of the top players in the world and has had a significant impact on the IPL as well. The all-rounder, however, was not included in the group when the tournament lineup was revealed.

Many were surprised by the absence of several prominent names from the West Indies T20 World Cup roster, but none more so than all-arounder Andre Russell. Russell has not participated in a single game since the T20 World Cup of the previous year, but many people expected him to feature in the championship tournament this time around as well.
The West Indies cricket structure is flawed: Aakash Chopra
Former India opener Aakash Chopra believes the West Indian cricket structure is flawed if a player like Russell misses the World Cup. Chopra also raised questions about the current squad’s strength, which is relatively young, as the two-time champions would play the qualifying round first and then move to the main round if they win at least a couple of games.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “The West Indies cricket structure is flawed if Andre Russell is not playing. Different islands unite to play for the team, but I think there is nothing to join them together. In the last T20 World Cup, it seemed the captain’s [Kieron Pollard] friends joined and partied together.”
Russell is considered to be one of the best in the format around the globe and has made quite an impact in the IPL as well.
