Rahul Dravid, the head coach, gave a news conference on the day before the game and gave an update on Dinesh Karthik.
When Team India takes the field against Bangladesh on Wednesday at the Adelaide Oval, they will be looking to rebound from their five-wicket setback to South Africa in the current Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.

Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper-batter, had some injury concerns going into the game after leaving the field in the final few overs of the contest against South Africa owing to back discomfort.
In a news conference on the morning of the game, head coach Rahul Dravid gave an update on Dinesh Karthik.
“He has performed admirably today. Unfortunately, he had a spasm when he jumped to grab the ball, and he landed badly, injuring his back slightly. But, with medication, he has recovered really well and has returned to training.”

“We will evaluate it and see how things progress. We’ll put him through his paces and make sure he’s gotten a good workout before making a final decision tomorrow morning ” Rahul Dravid stated.
“Our job is to support the players”: Rahul Dravid
Karthik had only scored six runs from fifteen balls against South Africa. As a result, there are some concerns about his form.
Dravid had this to say regarding Karthik’s form and performance: “You know it’s difficult to evaluate someone like DK’s performance because you don’t get to play many balls. He batted only once against Pakistan and did not face a single ball against the Netherlands. We thought he had a solid relationship with Suryakumar Yadav against South Africa, which we needed.”

“It was set up for him, but that is the essence of the game; you may get out by taking a high-risk shot. This is why we need to be as supportive as possible in this format” Rahul Dravid said.
“Batting at No.5 or No.6 does not provide you with a lot of balls to face, and you don’t have much time to settle in. Our job is to support the players so that when the moment comes, they are ready to make those crucial shots “Rahul Dravid Added.
Bangladesh is now in third place in Group 2 with the same number of points as Team India, who are currently tied for second place. With 5 points, South Africa now holds the top spot.
