Indian Cricket Team suffered a heart-wrenching defeat against England in the semi-final. The Men in Blue would be in a state of shock as losing the match by 10 wickets is massive in T20I Cricket. The billion people once again will have to wait for the elusive ICC T20 World Cup trophy.

England on the other hand won’t be able to believe that they thumped India at the Adelaide Oval. Alex Hales and Jos Buttler were on a mission as they not only were smashing boundaries but were rotating strikes too. Throughout the match, England’s bowling attack was quite disciplined as they never allowed any batter to change the dynamics.

Tom Moody On Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

Tom Moody was having an interaction with ESPNcricinfo and was asked about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

“With two years to play out, I’d be surprised if they play a lot of T20 cricket for India between now and that World Cup. And I think that decision will be something that they’ll need to sit down with the cricket board and work out six months prior to that World Cup.

“Because I don’t see any point in them playing any T20 cricket for India, apart from franchise cricket of course, to that point, because it’s a great platform to look to develop the players that we’ve been talking about,” said Tom Moody.

Steep Road Ahead for India

The Selection Panel will have to make sure that they are not frequently chopping and changing. The next T20 World Cup is in 2024 in the USA- West Indies where conditions would be quite alien. There are chances that the entire squad may get revamped as India’s approach hasn’t been fruitful.

Head Coach Rahul Dravid would be well aware of the fact that there are a lot of ICC tournaments scheduled in the next 12 months where the selection panel will have to be careful in managing the workload of players.

Under the new BCCI President Roger Binny we can expect changes in the selection panel as well as in the management after a disappointing performance.
