The famous pacer Waqar Younis stated that it is impossible for a bowler to plan against such a batsman as Suryakumar Yadav, yet he did praise Pakistan’s tactics against Suryakumar during their T20 World Cup opener in Melbourne.
Suryakumar is having the time of his life in the T20 World Cup. He’s batting fiercely and with an unbelievable strike rate.

On Sunday, Suryakumar Yadav’s stunning batting performance against Zimbabwe at the Melbourne Cricket Ground stunned and astounded the entire cricket world. He scored an unbeaten 61 in just 25 balls to help India win their final T20 World Cup group match by 71 runs and finish as group leaders on their way to the semifinals. Even Pakistani cricketing legends were in awe of his batting and pondered how to effectively remove him from a T20 contest given his form and all-around skill.

The scoop shot over the fine-leg fence off a full toss delivery that was down the sixth-stump line was one of Suryakumar’s most amazing shots during his innings at the MCG. It was one of the four maximums and six boundaries he smashed in his game-winning innings.
Waqar Younis applauds Pakistan’s tactics against Suryakumar Yadav:
While Akram was giving his opinion, Waqar Younis, another panellist, made an amazing statement. He inquired, “Bowler jaaye toh jaaye kahan?”
The famous pacer continued by saying that it is very challenging for bowlers to prepare for such a batsman, although he did praise Pakistan’s tactics against Suryakumar during their match in Melbourne at the opening of the T20 World Cup.

“What’s the best way to get him out in T20s? I mean in ODIs and Tests you can plan and get him out. But in T20, anyway, the bowler is on the back foot, and when someone is in this sort of form it is very difficult to bowl at him. I think Pakistan did well against him in the previous game, they bombarded him with short deliveries. Maybe that’s the only way to go,” he said.
Suryakumar is now Team India’s second-highest run scorer in the competition. He has scored 225 runs in five games at an astounding strike rate of 193.96 and an average of 75.
