Former Team India batsman Mohammad Kaif says Rohit Sharma’s toughest test as skipper will be the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final against England.
The Mumbai-born batsman, who is captaining the team for the first time in a World Cup, has a stellar record in his first year in charge since succeeding Virat Kohli in late 2021.

India participated in the 2022 Asia Cup before to the T20 World Cup, however the team may have underperformed there. They were eliminated from the continental championship in the United Arab Emirates after losses to Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super 4 stage (UAE).
While Rohit Sharma has been in charge of the Mumbai Indians (MI) for almost ten years and has guided them to five IPL championships, leading a country in a World Cup is completely another assignment.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, Kaif praised Rohit for his impactful captaincy, saying:

“I consider Rohit Sharma as a very good player, but the time has come where the next two matches are the most important ones. The next match is the biggest one for Rohit Sharma as captain, he has had a great record since taking over as T20 captain. I think he has brought an impact with his captaincy. The value he has brought in with his captaincy is immense.”
Mohammad Kaif believes Rohit Sharma will score against England:
With the bat, Rohit has had a lackluster tournament thus far; his fifty against the Netherlands in Sydney stands out as his only notable performance.
Even while he has displayed flashes of brilliance, he has not been able to play in the middle, register large runs, or even make use of the powerplay for the benefit of the team.

After leading India to 22 victories in 2022, Rohit recently surpassed Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s previous mark of 21 victories in 2021 as the T20I captain with the most victories in a calendar year.
At the Adelaide Oval on November 10, India and England will play in the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup.
