IND vs PAK: It Is Virat Kohli's Best Knock Playing For India – Rohit Sharma Hails Kohli After T20 World Cup 2022 Win Over Pakistan

Rohit Sharma’s India National Cricket Team won by 4 wickets against Babar Azam’s Pakistan National Cricket Team in the 16th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, October 23.

India National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. The decision favoured the side a lot as the new ball bowlers troubled the Pakistan batters.

Star openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were cleaned up by Arshdeep Singh. Then, Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed had a good 76-run partnership in 50 balls with the latter being the aggressor. Both the batters smashed half-centuries to help Pakistan post 159/8 on the board.

Chasing the target, the modern-day batting great Virat Kohli smashed remarkable 82 runs off 53 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes, to help India win the match. He also had a sensational 113 runs partnership in 78 balls with Hardik Pandya.

Speaking after the absolutely nail-biting match, India captain Rohit Sharma said that he has no words to describe the thrilling encounter. He added that the partnership between Kohli and Hardik was the game-changer.

He maintained: “I was in the dressing room. I don’t have any words left. You got to expect something like this in a game like this. We wanted to stay in the game for as long as possible. That crucial partnership was the game-changing moment for us.”

“The pitch had something in it. There was nice carry. Some swing and seam. We put them under some pressure. Good to see from the bowling perspective. They batted well towards the end,” Rohit Sharma further said.

Rohit Sharma further said that they were in no position to seal the win in their tournament opener, but Hardik and Kohli batted brilliantly and took the game deep. He also labelled Kohli’s stellar knock as his best knock in the Indian jersey.

He said: “But we knew we had to bat out of our skin to chase this. Those two guys are experienced. Staying calm and taking the game deep was very critical. Good for our confidence. Always crucial to get off the mark like this. 

“We were in no position to win this. It is Virat’s best knock playing for India. I would expect nothing less from the crowd wherever we go in Australia.”
