The Pakistan Cricket Board shared an update on Shan Masood, stating that the batter’s neurological observations are normal, he has gotten away with “superficial bruising” and he currently remains asymptomatic for concussion.

“All of Shan Masood’s neurological observations are normal. His CT scan only shows superficial bruising where the ball struck him. He will be re-tested (Saturday) for concussion,” the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement.

After the incident, the Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan said that Masood was hit awkwardly in a sensitive area.

“He was hit awkwardly in a sensitive area. I don’t know his current status, but he has passed the tests taken by our physio. Now, he’s now gone to the hospital for a scan. We’re praying for his quick recovery,” Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan was earlier quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Masood’s participation in the high-voltage clash against India National Cricket Team is doubtful after the incident and Fakhar Zaman might come in as his replacement in the playing XI.
