India are at the top of the Group-2 table with four points after defeating Pakistan and the Netherlands in Melbourne and Sydney. The Indian cricket team has reached Perth for their next match against South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

The Men in Blue will most likely remain unchanged. This match will be important to secure their place in the knockout game and the main focus will be on how the Indian batsmen will face and react to the South African fast bowlers.

The veteran wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik, is probably playing in his last ICC tournament. He was part of Team India, which became champions for the first time in the inaugural tournament in 2007.

The eyes will also be on the senior wicketkeeper, who missed a stumping chance against the Netherlands in India’s last game. This is the reason that before the big match in Perth, Karthik did this type of training, which is considered difficult.

Dinesh Karthik performed unique keeping drills under the supervision of fielding coach T Dileep. The 37-year-old did “blind drill,” which is a specific keeping exercise done to increase alertness as keepers get blindsided by batters when the ball comes to them at the last moment.

According to PTI, Karthik trained for his reaction time in two ways: first with towels covering the path of the ball, and then with a kitbag and rubber bat. He was injured while attempting to catch a powerful throw and had a good look at the inners beneath the gloves.

Along with Karthik, Rishabh Pant was seen hitting the ball with disdain in the nets during India’s optional practice session in a rainy and cold Perth. The rest of the senior players, including captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and others are resting before the big game.

India will take on South Africa in their next Super 12 fixture in Group 2 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, October 30.
