IND vs SA: Things Might Have Turned Out Differently If We Had Taken Those Catches: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar stated that “things may have been different” if they had taken chances on the field After Team India’s Sunday defeat to South Africa.
Aiden Markram was on 35 when Virat Kohli missed a simple catch off Ravichandran Ashwin at deep midwicket. Also missed were a few tight run-outs, which had an impact on the outcome.

“Yes, things would have been different if you had taken those catches. Catches win games, and those opportunities, if seized, might have been decisive”
Bhuvneshwar said.

“I won’t argue that the momentum changed as a result of the catch we missed and the missing run-out opportunities, but it would have been different. However, I won’t single out any specific moment as such,” the seamer continued.
David Miller (59 not out) and Markram (52 off 41 balls) combined 76 important runs for the fourth wicket as South Africa successfully pursued a target of 134 with two balls remaining.
“It was a difficult wicket to bat on”: Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar sympathized with the Indian top order, which was unable to handle the additional pace, bounce, and movement.
“We all know that was a difficult wicket to bat on when it came to batting.” So far in the competition, the par score has been around 140 or so. We believed that with 140 points, we could make a match of it” Bhuvneshwar Kumar said.
He defended Rohit Sharma, the captain, for giving Ashwin the 18th over (his fourth), after the 14th over had produced 17 runs. Deepak Hooda was Rohit’s only other choice.

“The general consensus is that the hitters would have had it harder in the end while facing the pacers if the spinner had been able to keep things tight. And batting becomes simpler if a spinner is kept at the finish. Things might have altered if we had gotten a wicket,” he continued.
Team India is currently second in Group 2 points with four points from three matches. On Wednesday, the team will take on Bangladesh at Adelaide Oval.
